On November 29, the "New Forces in Photovoltaics" company, Xiana Photovoltaics, successfully shipped its perovskite α tandem modules to the Three Gorges Energy photovoltaic demonstration project, with a shipment volume of 500 kW. Xiana Photovoltaics stated that, based on public information, this is the first commercial application of four-terminal perovskite-silicon tandem modules in the world. It is expected that this project will be connected to the grid by the end of this year. Xiana Photovoltaics co-founder and CEO Yao Jizhong explained to reporters that the photoelectric conversion efficiency of this perovskite-silicon tandem module reaches 25.4%, equivalent to the most advanced crystalline silicon BC modules on the market. "The efficiency limit of crystalline silicon batteries is just the starting point for tandem battery efficiency," Yao Jizhong stated. In the future, the efficiency of tandem modules is expected to reach 30% to 35%, which will far exceed the efficiency ceiling of crystalline silicon photovoltaics. (Shanghai Securities News)
