According to reports, Tesla has added the "charging port heating" function to the 2024 Model X and some 2023 Model Y in the latest version 2024.44.3.1. Since the end of 2020, Tesla has equipped all cars with charging port heaters, and previously provided other similar preheating functions, but all required activating other vehicle functions to be initiated. For example, "rear defrost" heats the charging port while heating the side mirrors. Additionally, users can activate the charging port heater through preconditioning, but this will also heat the cabin. Tesla stated that with preconditioning, the vehicle's battery charging performance is better, and the automatic defogging effect on the windshield during and after supercharging will also improve. After updating to 2024.44.3.1, Tesla owners can now manually activate the charging port heater without needing to enable other functions.
