Today, four departments including the National Health Commission, Ministry of Commerce, National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and National Center for Disease Control and Prevention issued the "Pilot Work Plan for Expanding Opening in Wholly Owned Hospitals" (hereinafter referred to as the "Plan"), promoting the orderly expansion of opening in the medical field, allowing the establishment of wholly foreign-owned hospitals in the pilot program, introducing high-level international medical resources, and enriching domestic medical services supply. The "Plan" specifies that wholly foreign-owned hospitals can be established in Peking, Tianjin, Shanghai, Nanjing, Suzhou, Fuzhou, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and the entire island of Hainan (except for traditional chinese medicine, and not including the acquisition of public hospitals).
