On November 27th local time, Russian Deputy Chairman of the Security Council, Medvedev, stated that Russia needs to use the most advanced technology to strictly control the entry and exit of foreign citizens as well as their movement within Russia. According to information previously announced by the Russian government, starting from December 1, 2024 local time, major airports in Moscow will begin the pilot project of collecting biometric information from arriving passengers. The pilot program will be implemented at Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, Vnukovo, and Zhukovsky airports in Moscow.
