Nokia announced that Deutsche Telekom AG (Deutsche Telekom AG), one of Europe's largest telecom operators, has selected the company to deploy more than 3,000 open network sites in northern Germany. This large-scale network deal is a large-scale commercial deployment of OpenRAN's open technology. According to reports, OpenRAN technology allows telecom operators to select required components from different equipment vendors without having to buy a complete set of equipment from a single vendor. According to the mutual cooperation statement, Nokia's technology will be connected to wireless communication devices from Japanese information and communication technology Fujitsu. Deutsche Telekom has previously collaborated with Nokia and Fujitsu to deploy an OpenRAN test network site in the country.
