Ningxia Baofeng Energy Group announced that its subsidiary Inner Mongolia Baofeng Coal-Based New Materials Co., Ltd.'s 3 million tons/year olefin project's first series of 1 million tons/year olefin production line has successfully undergone trial production, yielding qualified products. This project began construction in March 2023 and utilizes a green hydrogen and modern coal chemical industry collaborative production process. It is the largest coal-to-olefin project in the world by single plant scale and the only project globally that uses green hydrogen to replace fossil energy for large-scale olefin production. Upon completion, Ningxia Baofeng Energy Group's total coal-to-olefin production capacity will significantly increase to 5.2 million tons/year, about 2.4 times the current capacity, making it the top producer in the domestic coal-to-olefin industry.
