On the afternoon of November 25th, Netease Cloud Music publicly called out QQ Music today, demanding that QQ Music stop the plagiarized "innovation." Netease Cloud Music stated that QQ Music copied its music player's "DIY feature." Netease Cloud Music's music player DIY feature was launched on October 25th, allowing users to upload images to personalize the player interface. However, just four days later, QQ Music released a highly similar "player customization feature," once again copying Netease Cloud Music. Netease Cloud Music also detailed in the statement multiple incidents in recent years where QQ Music has been accused of "imitating" and copying Netease Cloud Music, and requested that QQ Music immediately cease its continuous plagiaristic "innovation," imitative "creativity," and follow-up "updates" behavior. Netease Cloud Music also quoted Ma Huateng's speech at the Tencent Annual Conference, "Most importantly, we are not behind others making the same thing."
