The company expressed its determination to ensure the "continuity" of its business in Italy, but also noted that it is facing a challenging path that necessitates difficult choices and that there are no simple solutions. The company has repeatedly halted production in Italy this year, but during negotiations with the government and unions last week, it promised not to close plants in the country nor to conduct large-scale layoffs.
