Recently, the Sichuan Provincial Department of Science and Technology and the Provincial Development and Reform Commission issued the "Overall Work Plan for the Artificial Intelligence Industry Chain in Sichuan Province (2024-2027)", clarifying the main goals, development layout, and key tasks for the development of the artificial intelligence industry in Sichuan in the next 3 years. The "Work Plan" proposes that by 2027, the artificial intelligence industry in Sichuan will achieve the "Ten Hundred Thousand Ten Million" development goal and become the fourth pole of national artificial intelligence industry development. The "Ten Hundred Thousand Ten Million" development goal involves creating more than 10 industry benchmark large models with national influence, overcoming over 100 original and disruptive key core technologies, fostering and strengthening over 100 leading enterprises with national competitiveness, having over 2000 artificial intelligence technology companies, with an industry scale exceeding 200 billion yuan, and a total computing power exceeding 40,000P (1P is equivalent to a computing speed of 1000 trillion calculations per second). The "Work Plan" clearly outlines Chengdu and Mianyang as the main support areas, and Deyang, Suining, and other 11 areas for coordinated development as the main directions. It also presents 26 key tasks and initiatives from 8 aspects including artificial intelligence industry technological innovation, enhancing advanced computing power and data supply capabilities, nurturing large model clusters, and developing intelligent robots.
