On November 14, the Shanghai First Intermediate People's Court held a public hearing for the first instance of defendant Chen Demei's case of bribery and illegal profit for friends and relatives. The First Branch of the Shanghai People's Procuratorate sent personnel to support the prosecution, and defendant Chen Demei along with his defense lawyer attended the court proceedings. The prosecution alleged: From 2007 to 2023, defendant Chen Demei took advantage of his positions as General Manager of Shanghai Huizhong Auto Manufacturing Co., Ltd., Vice President of Shanghai Automotive Group Co., Ltd., and Chairman of Anji Automotive Logistics Co., Ltd. to provide assistance to relevant units and individuals in matters such as increasing business shares, undertaking projects, and company operations, with the aim of seeking benefits. From 2008 to 2024, Chen Demei illegally accepted property valued at over 29.4695 million yuan from relevant units and individuals.
