The Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong has initiated an investigation into the suspected market manipulation activities of Huanqiuzhinengkonggu Limited (Asia Vets) shares and launched an inquiry procedure at the Market Misconduct Tribunal (Tribunal) against Ding Yi Feng Holdings Group International Limited (Ding Yi Feng) former chairman and non-executive director Sui Guangyi (male), two corporate entities, and 28 other suspects. The Securities and Futures Commission alleges that Sui and 30 other suspects engaged in manipulative trading of Asia Vets shares from October 31, 2018 to March 11, 2019, to artificially inflate the stock price and trading volume, resulting in false or misleading representations of active trading and related stock prices of Asia Vets. The paired transactions between the suspects' securities accounts accounted for a significant portion of the volume of Asia Vets shares at critical times. As of December 31, 2018, Asia Vets shares accounted for 21.68% of Ding Yi Feng's total assets, therefore, the substantial increase in Asia Vets share price also brought significant investment returns to Ding Yi Feng. The Securities and Futures Commission had issued a freezing notice to freeze securities accounts related to suspected market manipulation activities of Asia Vets shares. These freezing notices are still in effect. The Securities and Futures Commission appreciates the assistance provided by the China Securities Regulatory Commission during the investigation process.
