Boeing workers at the USA West Coast factory will vote on Monday on a proposed contract improvement, which could end a seven-week strike and restart production of the troubled jet maker's jet aircraft. Boeing's latest proposal includes a 38% wage increase over four years, higher than the 35% raise rejected by about two-thirds of the 33,000 striking machinists in a vote 12 days ago. This is the fourth offer Boeing has made since the strike began on September 13, a critical time for the company. The strike has caused a halt in production of its cash cow, the 737 MAX jet aircraft. Last week, Boeing announced a $24 billion stock issue to support its financial position. The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers said on Sunday that if the offer is accepted, workers could return to work as early as Wednesday, or as late as November 12.
