Japan's largest oil company, Inenshi, reached an agreement on the purchase of waste edible oil with a local large-scale catering company on the 10th, for the production of sustainable aviation fuel. Currently, many oil companies in Japan are accelerating the production and popularization of this type of fuel. As of now, Inenshi has reached agreements on the purchase of waste edible oil with 20 companies or organizations. Compared with traditional aviation fuel, sustainable aviation fuel can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 80%, but due to high production costs, the current price is 3 to 5 times that of traditional aviation fuel, production is limited. With gradual promotion and accelerated production, the Japanese government expects its usage to account for 10% of the overall aviation fuel by 2030, approximately 1.7 million kiloliters.
