BMC Software, a enterprise technology provider under KKR & Co., will be split into two independent companies. Ayman Sayed, CEO of BMC Software, stated in an interview that one company will retain the BMC name, focusing on large computers and software automation for enterprises. The other company, named BMC Helix, will specialize in software tools for monitoring and managing all technologies within organizations. BMC Helix will compete with companies like ServiceNow, while Broadcom will be among BMC's competitors. Sayed mentioned that out of the company's current $2.3 billion in revenue, about two-thirds will be from the new BMC business, with the rest from BMC Helix, adding that the split will accelerate the growth of both companies. The two companies will not bring in new investors and will continue to be owned by KKR and minority shareholder Len Blavatnik's Access Industries. Both companies still need to determine their respective leadership teams and will begin operating as independent entities next year.
