BNSF, a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway B, has successfully negotiated a five-year labor agreement with the SMART-MD department of the International Sheet Metal, Air Conditioning, Railroad, and Transportation Union. Union members voted in favor of the contract today. The new agreement includes a 3.5% annual wage increase during its validity. Additionally, the agreement also enhances employees' medical care benefits and introduces provisions allowing employees to accumulate more vacation time early in their careers.
