As power companies continue to restore power, these power outages have decreased from 1.7 million on Tuesday. The storm caused approximately 5.5 million customers to lose power, mainly concentrated in the southeast. According to PowerOutage.us data, Duke Energy, a utility company, is the most affected, with about 287,732 and 234,375 customers still without power in South Carolina and North Carolina, respectively. Duke Energy stated on Tuesday that they have restored power to approximately 1.6 million customers in the Carolinas and expect to restore power to most of the remaining outages by Friday night.
