Recently, GAC Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. and FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation to recall the following vehicles starting from September 29, 2024. GAC Toyota is recalling a total of 72,828 Highlander Hybrid vehicles produced between July 19, 2023, and September 7, 2024. FAW Toyota is recalling a total of 59,296 Corolla Wildfire Hybrid vehicles produced between July 3, 2023, and September 9, 2024. The vehicles within the scope of this recall have an imperfect brake actuator control computer program. During steering, the brake actuator cannot adjust the brake fluid pressure properly. In extreme cases, it may cause the vehicle to temporarily not provide braking force as intended by the driver, resulting in longer braking distance than the driver's predicted distance, increasing the risk of collisions and posing a safety hazard. GAC Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. and FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. will upgrade the internal program of the brake actuator control computer for the recalled vehicles free of charge to eliminate the safety hazard.
