The Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong prohibits Goldman Sachs (Asia) Limited and Goldman Sachs (Asia) Securities Limited former trader Zheng Zhongsheng from re-entering the industry for six months, from September 20, 2024 to March 19, 2025. The commission's investigation found that Zheng Zhongsheng issued incorrect trading instructions when buying company X shares for a client on August 24, 2020, resulting in a shortfall of 2 million shares when executing the client's trading instructions. After the market closed on the same day, Zheng was reminded of the trading execution error, but only reported the matter to the Goldman Sachs management and compliance departments four days later. The commission found that Zheng Zhongsheng had concealed the attempt to correct the trading execution error through dishonest means.
