Indian media group Zee Entertainment announced on September 18th local time that Disney's wholly-owned subsidiary, Star India, submitted a statement of claim to the London Court of International Arbitration on September 16th, seeking damages of 0.94 billion dollars due to the termination of the agreement, and demanding Zee to pay. Zee refutes all claims and allegations made by Star India, and the arbitration is currently at an initial stage. The dispute is related to Zee's failure to comply with the payment deadline stipulated in the 1.4 billion dollar licensing agreement signed with Star India.
