Former New York Federal Reserve Bank Chairman Dudley said there are sufficient reasons for the Fed to cut interest rates by 50 basis points. He stated at the annual Bretton Woods Committee Future of Finance Forum held in Singapore, "I think there are strong reasons to support a 50 basis point rate cut, whether they will do it or not." He mentioned that the current interest rates are 150-200 basis points above the so-called neutral interest rate of the usa economy. The policy of the neutral interest rate in the usa economy is neither restrictive nor loose. "So the question is: 'Why don't you start?'"
