Insurance companies and other institutional investors are continuing to layout A-shares through ETFs. According to incomplete statistics from the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, insurance institutions represented by China Life Insurance and Xinhua Life Insurance increased their holdings of ETFs in the first half of 2024 to a total of 33.753 billion yuan. Overall, institutional investors have the highest proportion of broad-based ETFs, accounting for 69.6%, followed by HongliETFs. The proportion of institutional investors holding ETFs has gradually increased. As of the end of June this year, the total scale of ETFs held by institutional investors was 1.4 trillion yuan, an increase of 407.8 billion yuan from the end of 2023, with the proportion increasing to 57%.
