Most of the major stock indices in the Asia-Pacific region closed lower. The Korea Composite Index fell by 1.21% to 2544.28 points, a weekly decline of 4.86%. As for the heavyweight stocks, POSCO Future M fell by 7.89%, Samsung SDI fell by 6.16%, Pohang Iron and Steel fell by 3.65%, LG Electronics fell by 3.17%, and LG Chemical fell by 3.11%. The Nikkei 225 Index fell by 0.72% to 36391.47 points, a weekly decline of 5.84%. As for the heavyweight stocks, Keinorth fell by 3.61%, Hitachi fell by 3.57%, Sony fell by 2.55%, and Tokyo Electron fell by 1.9%. The Australia S&P/ASX 200 Index rose by 0.39% to 8013.4 points, a weekly decline of 0.97%. The New Zealand S&P/NZX 50 Index fell by 0.50% to 12615.51 points, a weekly increase of 1.35%.
