According to reports, tens of thousands of hotel employees across the United States went on strike over the Labor Day weekend after months of contract negotiations with employers failed to reach an agreement. The strike is planned to last for two to three days and coincides with the holiday weekend. On Sunday, approximately 10,000 room attendants, front desk clerks, kitchen and restaurant staff, bartenders, bellmen, and luggage carriers went on strike from Hawaii to Boston. These employees are primarily employed by hotels owned by Hilton, Hyatt, and Marriott. These hotels have been in contract negotiations with the labor union Unite Here since May.
