At the 2024 Teda Auto Forum held on August 31, Ouyang Minggao, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and professor at Tsinghua University, stated that from the perspective of China Shipbuilding Industry Group Power battery prospects, high-energy-density solid-state batteries are equally important to the power battery industry in China as low-cost, long-life lithium-ion batteries. According to Ouyang Minggao, from 2010 to 2024, the energy density of power batteries has increased from 100Wh/kg to 300Wh/kg, and the cost has decreased from more than 4 yuan/Wh to less than 0.5 yuan/Wh. Looking at the solid-state battery industry, Ouyang Minggao believes that from a technical research and development perspective, from 2025 to 2030, the solid-state battery industry will focus on solid-state electrolytes; from 2030 to 2035, it will focus on high-capacity composite anodes; and from 2035 to 2040, it will focus on high-capacity composite cathodes.
