The Italian prosecution has officially launched an investigation against New Zealander James Catterfield, the captain of a luxury yacht that recently sank in the waters off Sicily. The charges are negligent shipwreck and multiple counts of manslaughter. According to reports, on the afternoon of the 25th, the prosecution interrogated the captain for 2 hours, including the location of the sailboat's anti-roll board, the opening state of the ship's hatch, and the time when the ship's alarm sounded after the weather conditions worsened. Furthermore, autopsy work on the seven victims is expected to commence soon.
