Due to the disappointing US July industrial production data, Goldman Sachs lowered the forecast for Q3 local Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth from 2.6% to 2.4%. Goldman Sachs pointed out that the July industrial production, which was announced earlier, fell by 0.6% month-on-month, which is larger than its estimated decline of 0.1%. This mainly reflects the negative impact of Hurricane Beryl on production in some areas. Goldman Sachs also stated that Q3 automobile assembly figures were also lower than expected, down 12.4% to 9.8 million units, the lowest level since October 2023. In addition, business equipment spending fell 0.2% month-on-month, adding to pressure on the GDP.
