The latest Fortune China 500 list was released on July 25. According to the registration location of the listed companies, 73 Guangdong companies made the list this year, an increase of three from last year. Among them, 36 are from Shenzhen. Overall, the 500 Chinese companies on the list had a total revenue of $14.6 trillion and a net income of $706.4 billion in 2023. Ping An Insurance, Huawei, Tencent, BYD, GAC and Midea are among the 11 Guangdong companies in the top 100 of the list. Among the top 10 Guangdong companies on the list, eight have improved their rankings from the previous year, and BYD has made the most significant progress, rising 26 places from last year's 66th place. Data show that BYD's revenue in 2023 was 602.315 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 42.04%, and its net income attributable to shareholders of the parent company reached 30.041 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 80.72%, both setting a new historical high.
