On July 19th local time, a Microsoft technical failure has caused more than 2,000 flights in the United States to be grounded. According to the flight tracking website Flight Aware, as of noon Eastern Time on the same day, more than 2,000 domestic, inbound or outbound flights to the United States have been canceled and more than 5,300 flights have been delayed. Many airlines including United Airlines have indicated that flights are gradually returning to normal, but as of noon on the 19th, a considerable number of flights are still delayed or canceled.
