According to the Shenzhen Special Zone Daily, as of June 2024, the number of motor vehicles in Shenzhen was about 4.263 million, of which 1.08 million were new energy autos, accounting for more than a quarter. In the first half of this year, Shenzhen promoted a total of 0.109 million new energy autos, and the new car penetration rate increased to 72.6%. The new car penetration rate in June reached 77.4%, which means that about 77 out of every 100 new cars registered in Shenzhen are new energy autos, setting a new monthly record in history. In 2023, the output of new energy autos in Shenzhen reached 1.73 million units, gathering more than 0.024 million new energy and digital energy companies.
