On the evening of July 12th, Qualcomm issued a statement announcing that it has filed a legal lawsuit against Shenzhen Transsion Holdings Co., Ltd. to protect its patent rights and help all Qualcomm licensees restore a fair competitive environment. Transsion under the company's umbrella has mobile phone brands such as Tecno, Itel, and Infinix. Qualcomm stated that Transsion has always refused to obtain Qualcomm's license comprehensively. Recently, Transsion has signed a license agreement with Qualcomm for some of its products, but most of its products have not yet been licensed by Qualcomm and are still infringing on Qualcomm's highly valuable patent portfolio.
