The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has recalled 145,254 Toyota vehicles in the United States because the side curtain airbags may be incorrectly deployed, potentially reducing passenger protection and increasing the risk of injury in a collision. Volkswagen has recalled 271,330 vehicles in the United States because the passenger airbag may not deploy properly in the event of an accident.
