DFA Investment Management along with the World Gold Council released the Gold Insights Report research results. A survey of 850 advisors, financial advisors and institutions worldwide, including 63 institutional investors in the Asia Pacific region, found that more Asia Pacific institutional investors (27%) plan to increase gold investments in the next 12 to 18 months compared to North American institutional investors (21%). The survey showed that institutional investors in the Asia Pacific region increasingly view gold as a core asset for long-term investment, demonstrating the advantages of gold in improving portfolio balance and diversification. Among the 76% of asset holders who have gold investments, 22% have gold assets accounting for 0.1% to 0.9% of their portfolio, 46% have gold assets accounting for 1% to 4.9% of their portfolio, and 8% have gold assets accounting for 5% or more of their portfolio. Xu Zhijie also pointed out that since 2008, whenever the Federal Fund interest rate has been lowered, gold has shown an upward trend in performance. It is believed that when the Federal Reserve transitions to loose monetary policy in the second half of this year, gold's performance will continue to be supported.
