Recently, Hunan Province's major scientific and technological project led by Chinese Academy of Engineering academician and CRRC chief scientist Ding Rongjun has passed the comprehensive acceptance of the "Key Equipment Technology Research and Demonstration Application for Deep-Sea Mineral Resource Mining" and received an outstanding evaluation. The expert group believes that the project has overcome many technical difficulties in the industry and has promoted a series of equipment technology achievements for deep-sea operations. This has laid a solid foundation for the future intelligent, electrified, and efficient deep-sea mining. This project's research and development success will provide technical support for subsequent electrification of deep-sea mining. The medium-frequency power supply and underwater all-electric drive system developed in this project can be applied to the independently developed deep-sea electric robots (ROV) and seabed cable trenching and burial equipment by Times Electric of CRRC Zhuzhou, which will effectively help the green, low-carbon, electrification, and intelligent development of global deep-sea equipment. This will also accelerate the construction of an ocean power country.
