Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has officially launched its Carioca weekly service, which connects Asia with the east coast of South America. According to the company, in addition to the existing Ipamena and Santana services, the Carioca route will provide additional coverage and increase the frequency of connections to this important tradelink with Asia. The Carioca service will expand its port coverage by adding Itapoa and Rio de Janeiro routes, and better connect Navegantes, Vitoria, and River Plate regions via Rio de Janeiro, increasing flight frequency from South Korea and China to southern Brazil. The first voyage of the Carioca weekly service is scheduled to begin on July 19, 2024.
