The model elevator manufactured by Otis Elevator (China) Co., Ltd. is a Gen2 Core elevator. The screw that triggers the safety clamp electrical safety device to hit the rod has a problem where on-site assembly space is limited and not easy to fasten. After loosening, the rod cannot trigger the safety clamp electrical safety device. On May 30, the General Administration of Market Regulation conducted an interview with the company. The General Administration of Market Regulation pointed out during the interview that elevator quality and safety are directly related to people's lives, health and safety. Otis Elevator (China) Co., Ltd. as a manufacturing unit should fully consider safety, reliability and maintainability in elevator design, and continuously optimize safety management in parts procurement and processing, construction site installation and commissioning. The interview requested that Otis Elevator (China) Co., Ltd. should confirm the rectification situation one by one, eliminate potential safety hazards, and continuously improve product design and comprehensively improve the essential safety level of elevator products on the basis that it has already carried out recall work of the same type of elevator. Relevant officials from the Tianjin Municipal Market Supervision Commission and the Hunan Provincial Market Supervision Bureau participated in the interview.
