As part of Intercontinental Exchange, a leading global technology and data provider, the New York Stock Exchange announced today that it will partner with CoinDesk Index to launch cash settlement index options that track the CoinDesk Bitcoin Price Index. ICE and the NYSE intend to partner with the CoinDesk Index and relevant regulators to develop specific products. Last year, ICE Singapore Futures collaborated with CoinDesk Index to update its Bitcoin futures contract, CoinDesk Bitcoin Futures (BMC), using XBX for monthly contract settlement. XBX is currently the benchmark for $20 billion ETF assets under management. It tracks Bitcoin's spot price in real-time on multiple cryptocurrency exchanges, denominated in US dollars. XBX is calculated and published every second, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. NYSE Chief Product Officer Jon Herrick said the NYSE is pleased to announce a partnership with CoinDesk Indices as traditional institutions and everyday investors have shown widespread enthusiasm for the recently approved spot Bitcoin ETF.
