China Reinsurance continuously reduced its holdings of Bank of China Gold Rental H shares, reducing holdings by nearly 131 million shares within a year

According to information disclosed by the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, China Reinsurance (Group) Co., Ltd. (“China Reinsurance”) reduced its holdings of 2,396 million shares of Bank of China Gold Rental H shares on the market on May 28, involving about HK$5.73 million. After the reduction in holdings was completed, the number of additional Bank of China Gold Rental H shares held by China fell to about 469 million shares. According to information, since BOC Gold Lease went public in 2016, China has increased its holdings several more times, and the number of shares held increased to around 600 million shares at the end of June 2020. However, starting in the second half of 2023, China Reinsurance made a U-turn to reduce its holdings of BOC Gold Rental shares. So far, the cumulative number of shares reduced is close to 131 million shares, and its shareholding share has dropped from 4.75% to about 3.71%. Among them, the cumulative reduction scale of holdings since this year has reached 92.62 million shares.
