CNOOC subsidiary signs oil concession contract with Mozambican Ministry of Energy and Mining

Breakings ·  May 24 08:57
We learned from CNOOC that its wholly-owned subsidiary has signed separate oil exploration and production concessions with the Mozambican Ministry of Energy and Mining and the Mozambican National Petroleum Corporation (ENH) for five offshore blocks in Mozambique. The contract signed this time covers a total of 5 blocks: S6-A, S6-B, A6-D, A6-E and A6-G, all located in Mozambican waters, with a total area of about 29,000 square kilometers and a depth of 500 meters to 2,500 meters. According to the contract, the first phase of the exploration period for the above blocks is 4 years. The five wholly-owned subsidiaries of CNOOC act as operators in the exploration and development phase, and each has operator rights in the 5 blocks, and ENH has non-operator rights.
