Cathay Pacific (0293.HK) released operating data for April. Thanks to local holidays and many major events, demand for leisure and business travel continued to be strong during the month. Cathay Pacific carried 1.741,600 passengers in April, an increase of 26.1% year-on-year. The number of passenger kilometers earned during the month increased by 27.8% year-on-year. The passenger load rate fell 5.4 percentage points to 81.6%, while the number of available seat kilometers increased by 36.2% year over year. In the first four months of this year, 7143,400 passengers were carried, an increase of 47.3% year-on-year, the number of available seat kilometers increased by 50.9%, while the number of passenger kilometers earned increased by 42.3%. Cathay Pacific carried 117,400 tonnes of cargo in April, an increase of 7.4% year-on-year. During the month, the tonnage of cargo revenue decreased by 0.4% year-on-year, the carrying rate decreased by 4.2 percentage points to 59.5%, while the number of usable tonns/km of cargo increased by 6.6% year-on-year. In the first four months of this year, the cargo volume was 473,800 metric tons, an increase of 10.1%, the number of usable cargo tonnes and kilometers increased by 12.9%, while the cargo revenue ton/km increased by 4.5%.
