Due to domestic economic and political needs, the US ignores market laws and international rules, and hypes up “overcapacity” of China's new energy, which is a new excuse for economic anti-globalization, protectionism, and unilateralism. A few other countries blindly followed suit due to their own short-term interests. This is bad for China, not good for the US, bad for the countries concerned, and not good for the whole world. Curbing and suppressing the development of China's new energy industry will not make America's local industry stronger; on the contrary, it will distort the international market and damage the efficiency of resource allocation. History has proven time and again that in the end, unilateralism and protectionism only hurt others and are harmful to oneself. The green and low-carbon transformation and coping with climate change are common challenges facing the international community. The development of China's new energy industry is in line with future development trends and will help countries around the world implement the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the goals of the Paris Agreement on climate change. We hope that the United States and a few other countries will stand at the height of a common destiny of mankind, start from the fundamental welfare of their own people and the people of the world, adhere to the principles of multilateralism and free trade, strengthen cooperation with China in the field of new energy, and work together to address common global challenges.
