New regulations for the regulation of NEV insurance are being prepared. Recently, the State Financial Supervisory Administration issued the “Notice on Work Related to Promoting High-Quality Development of New Energy Vehicle Insurance (Draft for Comments)” to financial insurance companies and other relevant parties, with the aim of promoting the cost reduction and efficiency of NEV insurance and raising the level of protection. China's new energy vehicles had exclusive commercial insurance products in December 2021, but there is still a problem of “car owners shouting high prices and insurance companies losing money” to a certain extent, and it is still difficult to apply for insurance in some areas. This time, the “Notice and Opinion Draft” proposes new energy vehicle insurance development ideas from three aspects, including optimizing the NEV insurance supply mechanism, improving the industry's NEV insurance business level, and promoting various key tasks in an integrated manner, with a total of 12 topics.
