The Shanghai Stock Exchange Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Exchange Business Implementation Measures (Consultation Draft) were publicly solicited for comments to clarify the transfer requirements relating to the size and weight share of the Shanghai Stock Connect ETF and the Hong Kong Stock Connect ETF. On the Shanghai Stock Connect side, the ETF inclusion scale threshold was adjusted from no less than RMB 1.5 billion to no less than RMB 500 million; the transfer ratio was adjusted to “among the underlying index constituent securities tracked, stocks listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange and Shenzhen Stock Exchange account for no less than 60% of the shares listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange and Shenzhen Stock Connect shares.” On the Hong Kong Stock Connect side, the ETF inclusion scale threshold was adjusted from no less than HK$1.7 billion to no less than HK$550 million; the transfer ratio was uniformly adjusted to “among the underlying index constituent securities tracked, stocks listed on the Stock Exchange account for no less than 60% of the weight, and Hong Kong Stock Connect shares account for no less than 60% of the underlying index constituent securities”, and the classification is no longer based on the index.
