Following the announcement of the business integration in February, Meituan CEO Wang Xing issued an internal email on April 18 announcing the iterative progress of the organization after the integration. According to the email, the previously integrated Meituan platform, in-store business group, home business group, and basic R&D platform will be merged into the “Core Local Commerce” (Core Local Commerce) sector, with Wang Puzhong as the core local business CEO. According to the email, Meituan “will no longer set up a store business group and a home delivery business group; the departments under the original jurisdiction of the two business groups will be adjusted to directly fall under the 'core local business'.”
