The Australian Government announced the “Solar Sunshot” plan on March 28, which will invest 1 billion Australian dollars (about 652 million US dollars) to ensure the production of more solar panels in Australia. The Australian Government said the “Solar Sunshot” program will provide production subsidies and grants to help Australia occupy a greater share of the global solar manufacturing supply chain. The statement said that although Australia's rooftop solar penetration rate is among the highest in the world, and one-third of households have installed solar panels, only 1% of them are domestically produced.
