In order to further enhance the investability of the index, China Securities Index Co., Ltd. decided to revise the preparation plan for the China Securities Full Index Pharmaceutical Index. The China Securities Pharmaceutical Index selects the top 50 securities with an average daily market value over the past year from the securities of listed companies whose business involves traditional Chinese medicine, chemical drugs, and biopharmaceuticals as an index sample to reflect the overall performance of pharmaceutical-themed listed companies' securities. The total market value of the latest sample of the index reached 2.14 trillion yuan. The weights of relevant listed companies in the traditional Chinese medicine, chemical drugs and biopharmaceuticals sectors were 37.98%, 47.07%, and 14.94%, respectively. It is reported that the above revisions will be implemented on October 30, 2023.
