According to a report by market research agency TechInsights, global smartphone shipments (wholesale) and sales (retail) fell 11% and 5% year-on-year respectively in February 2023. Despite declining numbers, the smartphone market began to improve in January 2023 due to China's reopening and improved economic prospects. The total inventory difference/change in the industry remained negative this month, indicating that major OEMs were still in a state of inventory adjustment this month. In terms of brands, Samsung has once again taken first place in terms of both shipments and sales. Apple retreated to second place.
