The Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Statistics announced the economic performance in 2022 on January 20. Guangzhou's gross domestic product in 2022 was 2883.9 billion yuan, an increase of 1% over the previous year. Guangzhou's industrial production continued to grow, and the value added of industries above the city's scale increased 0.8% year-on-year. The leading industry, the automobile manufacturing industry, played an important supporting role, and achieved a 4.8% year-on-year increase in value added throughout the year.
