Recently, China Merchants Steamship announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary signed two “Ship Building Agreements” with Dachuan Heavy Industries and China Shipbuilding Trade for two 175,000 cubic meter LNG carriers, with a total shipbuilding fee of 470 million US dollars. Industry insiders said that the LNG shipping market maintained a high level of prosperity. The surge in winter heating demand in the northern hemisphere and LNG demand in Europe has supported the overall growth of global LNG trade. Driven by global carbon emission reduction policies, demand for LNG trade continues to rise, providing a new round of development opportunities for LNG transportation.
