Semiconductor revenue for the third quarter of 2022 was US$147 billion, down 7% from US$158.1 billion in the second quarter. In the second quarter of this year, semiconductor revenue fell for the first time. Prior to that, the semiconductor industry had been growing for 8 consecutive quarters. Industry insiders analyzed that the factors leading to the decline in the market were not the same. The reason for the decline in the second quarter of 2022 was the downturn in the PC market, while the recent decline was due to the weakening of the memory market. The industry believes that the global semiconductor market is entering a period of weakness and will continue until 2023.
