Liu Dechun, director of the Resource Conservation and Environmental Protection Department of the National Development and Reform Commission, said at a news conference on the 22nd that remarkable achievements have been made in the optimization and upgrading of China's industrial structure over the past decade. In 2021, high-tech manufacturing accounted for 15.1% of the added value of large-scale industries, an increase of 5.7% over 2012; the added value of the "three new" industries reached 17.25% of GDP; the new energy industry led the world, providing more than 70% of photovoltaic modules for the global market; and green buildings accounted for 84% of the newly built urban floor space in that year. In the first eight months of 2022, the production and sales of new energy vehicles reached 3.97 million and 3.86 million respectively, and the number of new energy vehicles reached 10.99 million, accounting for about half of the world.
